Incomplete Perio Assessments
1,035 of 2,941 active patients require periodontal assessment data

Growth already inside the practice, revealed by aligning elevated-risk periodontitis patients with the selected 3-month care scenario.
3m models four visits per year; 4m models three. The estimate adds only the visits above each group’s current attendance. Unknown attendance is excluded.
Three months is the default. This changes the revenue scenario, not the clinical recommendation. Individual care intervals require clinical review.

Illustrative practice data1,035 of 2,941 active patients require periodontal assessment data
669 of 1,906 assessed patients have elevated perio risk
550 of 669 elevated-risk patients attend less frequently than the 3-month scenario
669 elevated-risk patients · Example practice · 3-month care scenario
We estimate how many extra visits each patient would have per year with care every 3 months, then multiply by $288 per visit.
For example: Moving from every 4 months to every 3 months adds 1 visit per year. Moving from every 6 months to every 3 months adds 2.
We use how often patients attend, rather than the recall interval assigned in the PMS. Patients with unknown attendance are excluded. The estimate assumes all eligible patients move to the selected interval; actual revenue will depend on visits completed.

Assessment status in this example is based on recorded periodontal probing data. The production definition of a complete periodontal assessment will follow OraQ’s approved clinical and data rules.
The Audit establishes the baseline. Perio Intelligence surfaces the patient when the team can act.
669 elevated-risk patients − 94 at target − 25 unknown = 550 patients for modeled alignment.

1,054 active patients illustrate a possible 12-month exam gap. Radiographs remain clinically indicated, not automatically annual.

* Newly assessed elevated-risk patients assume a six-month starting interval for planning only. Known-gap enrollment uses the eligible cohort’s average incremental visits. Extra visits are averaged over a year. Dollar amounts are rounded for display. Six- and 12-month populations are illustrative until validated with supported PMS data. Scenario outputs are estimates, not treatment recommendations.
Health Canada found that 21% of dentate Canadian adults have or have had moderate or severe periodontal problems. The Audit uses that national figure only as an adjustable planning assumption for newly assessed patients. It is not a clinic-specific prediction or treatment recommendation.
